Cosplay update!

So on the left is my Winter Teddie costume (Persona 4: Golden) just minus the wig.  I’m going to take my boob squisher with me for this one to the con.  I will skip the contacts most likely for comfort, but wear them for a potential snow photoshoot later this year.  Wearing this both Saturday and Sunday of Hamilton Armageddon, and Saturday of Wellington Armageddon.

On the left is the current progress of Esther’s harp.  Finally made it to the painting process!  The bead, tassel and strings are already in!  Wearing her (hopefully!) on the Sunday of Wellington Armageddon.

Now time to get my packing finished because con travel starts tomorrow! :D

This weekend is Hamilton Armageddon and I’m really excited that I get the chance to meet Janet Varney, Korra’s voice actress.  I hope that I will have enough guts to give her this sketch while I am there, as I LOVE Korra and love her work playing the character!

I also haven’t been updating my tumblr much with both this con and the one coming the following weekend - both costumes to finish AND stage presentations to do with my awesome partner-in-crime, JVCA.  Hopefully some more art and cosplay stuff will be uploaded today.

Oh gosh, the live show is SO hilarious! I’ve seen battle clips and was both amused and perplexed! XD

Yay!  Model sheets for the animation.

I always found Kanji and Teddie’s hair a little odd in the animation, though.  Not as evident here, but a lot of the times when Kanji is forward-facing his hair seems kind of…off (not that the games every really drew him front on as most character images are side-on).

Teddie, on the other hand…I didn’t know that firecut hairstyles had that big flick at the back too?  Maybe they don’t and they simply added it to make his right-side profiles look a bit less flat…but now it makes me go ‘WTF is going on with your hair, Teddie!’ XD

Bah, but despite it all, I still really like the animation.  The game is FAR superior in so many ways, but it’s fun and there were a few really funny bits thrown in (like Hanako and Kanji meeting up again at the end of the school camp!)

So the problem with designing characters who become popular is that, if you’re a needy bastard like me who tracks the Lutece tags when you’re bored, you’re suddenly exposed to a ton of art of said characters in various states of undress.

I’m not one to discourage this sort of thing- no no, I have sketchbooks full of Remus/Sirius stuff from high school- but I figured I might as well give everyone a leg-up with a more detailed guide to Rosalind Lutece’s potential underthings.  I’ve seen a ton of drawings of her in corsets from a good 50 years before her time and I…  I needed to step in.

Think of this as a primer!  Not a be-all-end-all of Edwardian underthings (heck, I’m still learning this stuff), but it might teach you some new fashion terms/ideas you weren’t previously aware of!  Go forth, young padawan, and draw historically-accurate Rosalind porn to your heart’s content.

…I do not know if this counts as fanart or not since I’m the one doing it?  Whatever.  RESEARCH OR DIE MOFOS

Okay potentially stupid thing but,

What if there was a cosplay group for NZers based off our native birds? I think a fantail dress/skirt would be the most beautiful thing ever. 

I would love to see some New Zealand wood pigeons and paradise ducks in the group!

Also keen on cosplaying a silver eye :9
